About Department
The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the academic year 2005–2006 and currently offers an undergraduate program in Mechanical and Automation Engineering, introduced in 2022. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in the fundamental principles of mechanical engineering while incorporating the latest advancements in automation and robotics. Through a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory work, and practical projects, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the discipline and develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. The department is supported by distinguished faculty members who bring a wealth of academic expertise and industry experience to the classroom.

The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering features modern laboratories that provide extensive practical exposure. Our students gain hands-on expertise in manufacturing processes, industrial automation, and robotic systems simulation.
- Manufacturing Technology Laboratory: Hands-on experience in operating machine tools and manufacturing components using specified machining processes.
- Strength of Materials and Fluid Machinery Laboratory: Experimental determination of material properties and performance characteristics of fluid machinery.
- Industrial Automation Laboratory: Practical skills in programming and operating automation systems for industrial processes.
- Metrology and Dynamics Laboratory: Precise measurement of mechanical components and study of dynamic characteristics like vibration and balancing.
- Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory: Integration of mechanical and electronic systems for advanced robotic applications.
