About the Department
The Department of Science and Humanities has been functioning since 2005 with the aim to provide the students with deep insights into basic sciences and lays a solid foundation to the engineering students during their first year. It is a multidisciplinary department which always focussed to lay the profound foundation for all Engineering disciplines. The Department has provided an ambience and infrastructure for the students to become researchers and innovators. It imparts valuable education on communicative and technical English, Engineering mathematics, Engineering Physics and Engineering Chemistry. Under S & H, the Department of English conducts Language lab for the students to strengthen their communication and soft skills. The Physics and Chemistry laboratory are fully equipped to help the students learn the experiments and protocols; crystal-clearly to ensure our students to become a outstanding engineers and scientists in future. The Department of Mathematics works hard to assist the students to understand the difficult concepts which will enable them in their pursuit of reasoning, analytical and application skills.
Department has well-experienced and highly qualified faculty members with the passion of service in heart and curious foresight in mind to inspire the aspirants of engineering education to climb up the height of the success. The department continuously makes consistent and strenuous efforts to advance the determined dissemination of knowledge of all kinds. It actively involves in the early development of students’ personality, communication and soft skills to make them competitive enough to progress in the international volatile job market.

Vision
- To establish a centre of excellence in basic sciences such as Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry that provide foundation for engineering studies and also in communication skills that helps students to express themselves effectively and to create proficient engineers who can be globally challenged in engineering fundamentals – experimental, analytical, computational and designing abilities.
Mission
- Keeping the core objectives to create academic excellence in fundamental sciences, the Department of Science and Humanities aims to encourage advanced teaching learning process and quality research at individual, department and institutional level. It also endeavours to build quality based knowledge and human resource capacity.

- Mr.M.SUDHAKAR, M.Sc., M.Phil., Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Science and Humanities, Gojan School of Business and Technology. He obtained his B.Sc., Chemistry and M.Sc Chemistry from Presidency College, University of Madras, Chennai in the year 2000 and 2002; and M.Phil in Chemistry from Periyar University in the year 2009. He started his career as Chemistry faculty in Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Redhills. Then joined as Assistant Professor, Department of Science and Humanities, Chemistry, Gojan School of Business and Technology in the year 2006. Overall, he has been in the teaching profession for 21 years. He has published a book “ENGINEERING CHEMISTRY” for I semester B.E & B.Tech students. He was honored with “TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARD” from LIONS CLUBS, for his dedication in the field of Education. He was honored as “ACTIVE PARTICIPANT” in the Science Festival (Vigyan Utsav) as a part of Celebration of 75th Year of Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) under the theme of “Intellectual Property Rights” on 4th August 2022 organized by Tamilnadu State Council for Science and Technology. He attended national and international conferences. Under Department of Research and Development, Gojan School of Business and Technology, he involved actively and made innovations in terms of herbal formulations in manufacturing organic soaps enriched with distinct therapeutic herbs. He organized a Guest lecture titled “Brief lecture about basics of chemistry and how chemistry is involved in our day to day life”. Achievements include production of 100% results in General Engineering Chemistry.
